A message from Our Music Teacher, Mr. Denke:
Hello all! I have created a music facebook page for Salem and Andrew Avenue schools! I will frequently be posting pictures, videos, student work and concert dates on this page. This is a great way to see what your child is learning in music class as well as what they have accomplished. I hope to see you on there! Click here for Mr. Denke's Music Page
1st Grade Community Service Project
Please help us in our efforts to keep all AAS community members in warm mittens and gloves this season!
There are many ways you and your family can take part...remember this project is kid-envisioned & planned!
Send in a clean, gently used pair of mittens or gloves
Shop Goodwill and/or consignment shops for deals
Help your scholar earn the funds (chores=responsibility) to purchase a new pair to donate
As a family collect and donate
Ask a crafty friend or family member to make mittens/gloves to donate
A “mitten tree” has been placed in a central location for community members to take mittens & gloves as needed!
Let’s make this happen and help our first grade scholars see the impact they can have!
Thank you for your support!
Our doors open at 8:40 AM students can then enter and go have breakfast. (We have free breakfast and free lunch.) A bell rings at 8:55 AM at which time school officially begins. Our day ends at 3:25 PM. On a half day, school dismisses at 1:00 PM. Lunch is served on all half days. On ½ days called on account of weather and when all after school activities are canceled the SPARK and YMCA program does not run. Please make sure the school knows how your child/children will be going home on those days.
