Welcome to kindergarten!  We are going to have so much fun learning this year!  For many students kindergarten is their first school experience and it is going to be a great one! I can't wait to meet all the new learners and to see their growth.  Kindergarten is a very rewarding year, the amount of growth that is seen from the beginning of the year to the end of the year is remarkable!  I can't wait to get started :).  It is going to be an awesome year!

About Miss Matott

I have always had a love of learning and am a lifelong learner.  Teaching allows me to share my love of learning with students and continue to be a lifelong learner.  I’ve always loved working with children and I especially love working with the students of Andrew Avenue!  I always knew that I wanted to work with the youngest learners and am honored to be able to share their first school experiences with them. Naugatuck is a great community, I have worked in other school districts and feel at home in Naugatuck.  The values of this community and the dedication to providing the best education to each and every student is something I am proud to be part of.  Andrew Avenue is a great place to be!  At Andrew Avenue we are a family. We have a small tight knit school community.  We often have siblings come through the same classroom and are able to form great partnerships with families in the community.  We all have the same goal in mind: to provide the best experiences for our students :)!

I have a bachelors degree in elementary education as well as a bachelors degree in psychology both from Southern CT State University!  I also have a masters degree in Remedial Reading also from Southern CT State University.

Years of Experience: I taught first grade for six years in another school district and have been teaching kindergarten for two wonderful years in Naugatuck!

Classes taught: All things kindergarten

A few of my favorite things: Seltzer, chocolate, Brooklyn Bakery Donuts, and reading at the beach

A fun fact about me: I love to line dance!
