"One smile, can start a friendship.  One word can end a fight. One look, can save a relationship. One individual can change your life." - OSIRIS

Welcome!

Welcome to Andrew Avenue!  I support students, families, and fellow staff members here at Andrew Avenue.  No day is the same for me!  I support students social, emotional, and behavioral needs through individual and group counseling sessions and classroom lessons.  If you or your child is experiencing any type of difficulty or hardship, please reach out to me so I can help!  I will always make myself available to meet with you or your child.  In addition to our school resources, I can refer you to community resources for additional support.  It is my number one priority to ensure that your child feels safe, happy, and excited to learn in school each and every day!  I am so blessed to be part of the Andrew Avenue family.  Each and every crew member puts their hearts into loving the students and views education and teaching as a lifestyle not just a job.

About Mrs. Barker

I live in Watertown with my husband, four children, and two dogs!  I’ve always enjoyed working with kids.  I began my career working with kids who were in trouble with the law.  I later decided I wanted to combine my love for children and my passion for education and begin my work in schools.  I felt like I could make the greatest difference in the lives of children in a school setting.  When I began here at Andrew Avenue School, I could tell that it was the perfect fit for me.  I absolutely love the school, the community, my co-workers, and most of all the students!  I love working at Andrew Avenue because it is truly a "great place to be."  My co-workers are always welcoming and amazing team players.  The leadership is so supportive and the students always make me smile everyday! Having the opportunity to be a part of the students academic and social emotional growth is the most rewarding feeling!
